    About the producer

Based in Beaune, it combines historic stature with remarkable vitality, continuing to attract leading figures of the wine world to shape and interpret its many terroirs. Now owned by an American family, the wines are crafted under the assured direction of Frédéric Barnier, who safeguards the house’s hallmark precision and consistency. These unwavering standards are what sets Maison Jadot apart in Burgundy. With 225 hectares under vine and representation across 130 appellations, not only in the Côte d’Or but also in the Mâconnais and Beaujolais, wine lovers can expect genuine pleasure at every price level, always easily identifiable by the iconic Bacchus head on the label. The estate favours traditional winemaking methods, with slow fermentations and extended ageing. Chemical herbicides are prohibited and yields are strictly limited. A house where scale never eclipses identity, and tradition continues to shape every bottle.

    About the wine

Situated between Gevrey-Chambertin to the north and Chambolle-Musigny to the south, Morey-Saint-Denis is one of the jewels of the Côte de Nuits. Maison Louis Jadot showcases this terroir through a traditional, respectful approach that aims to express the typicity of each climat. The Pinot Noir vines grow on brown limestone pebbly soils mixed with red clay. Harvesting is done by hand, followed by rigorous sorting. In the winery, fermentation takes place with native yeasts in open vats for three weeks, with gentle punch-downs and pump-overs. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak casks.
The ruby-red hue shows garnet highlights. The elegant, expressive nose reveals black fruit, morello cherry and violet, alongside notes of spice, liquorice and undergrowth. On the palate, the wine is generous, fleshy and structured, with firm yet smooth tannins leading into a long, fresh and persistent finish.
