Information
The rolling hills of the Langhe offer some of the most singular terroirs for Nebbiolo vines to thrive. Rocche di Castiglione is one of Castiglione Falletto’s most emblematic crus, renowned for centuries for producing Barolo of exceptional finesse and age worthiness. Here, the vines grow on steep, well-exposed slopes rooted in limestone marl and clay rich in marine fossils, an ideal foundation for Nebbiolo. After manual harvests and meticulous sorting, the fruit is brought to the winery. Fermentation proceeds naturally with native yeasts during long macerations that draw out the full aromatic depth of the fruit. Vinification concludes with 24 months of ageing in large Slavonian oak foudres (large tuns).
The intense garnet colour will develop orange glints with age. The complex bouquet layers dried rose, sour cherry, liquorice and truffle with balsamic nuances. On the palate, the wine is powerful and structured, showing firm yet smooth tannins balanced by lively acidity.
