Information
Drawn from parcels located in Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba, this Barolo reflects the complementary character of two great terroirs. The marl-limestone soils of Castiglione lend finesse and elegance, while the more compact clay-limestone of Serralunga imparts structure and power. In the winery, the grapes ferment in stainless-steel vats during a long 20-day maceration. The Nebbiolo then undergoes a rigorous maturation regimen split between large wooden casks and barriques.
The wine shows an intense, subtly brilliant ruby hue. The expressive, generous bouquet layers black cherry, dried plum, violet and dried rose with delicate notes of blond tobacco. On the palate, a generous, structured attack opens onto firm yet elegant tannins, lifted by a fine mineral tension and leading into a long, persistent, gently spiced finish.
