Information
Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet is the smallest Grand Cru of the Côte de Beaune, covering just under two hectares in the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet. This terroir enjoys south-east exposure and clay-limestone soils ideal for Chardonnay vines to thrive. Following manual harvests, the grapes ferment in oak casks with strict temperature control. The wine is then aged in oak on fine lees for around 16 months.
In the glass, the pale-gold hue shows subtle golden glints. The bouquet reveals complex aromas of white flowers and white-fleshed fruit such as peach and pear, alongside honey, hazelnut and delicate mineral notes. On the palate, a fresh, lively attack is supported by a fleshy, creamy texture. The beautiful length on the palate leads into a finish that is both mineral and gently spiced.
