Information
Puligny-Montrachet is one of the most renowned white wine villages of the Côte de Beaune. The Les Chalumeaux climat is a Premier Cru site located on the slope of the Côte de Beaune, bordering the leaner, stonier terroirs that stretch toward Meursault. The predominantly limestone soils, scattered with stony scree, lend the wines their pronounced minerality and remarkable tension. The grapes are carefully hand-picked at peak ripeness. In the winery, the fruit is gently pressed before fermenting spontaneously in oak casks. The wine is then aged on its fine lees for ten months.
In the glass, the wine reveals a pale yellow hue shines with brilliant highlights. The bouquet opens with floral and fruit-forward notes of white blossoms, pear, and white peach, lifted by subtle hints of citrus and sweet spice. On the palate, a clean, precise attack gives way to a smooth texture, a fine salinity, and striking minerality, leading into a long, saline finish.
