Information
Bonnes-Mares is a historic Grand Cru of the Côte de Nuits, straddling the communes of Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis. Its deep clay-limestone soils give rise to wines of depth and power. After hand-harvesting, the Pinot Noir grapes undergo rigorous sorting, cluster by cluster and parcel by parcel. The fruit then macerates gently and ferments spontaneously with native yeasts. The cuvée is subsequently aged in French oak barriques for around twenty months before bottling at the estate.
The wine displays an intense ruby-red hue. The intense nose opens with red and black fruit, joined by violet and sweet spices. On the palate, a clean attack reveals fine-grained yet present tannins supported by a subtle acidity, leading into a long, subtly saline and spicy finish. An age-worthy wine that will reward a few years of patience.
