Information
Located in the heart of the Burgundy village of Gevrey-Chambertin, the vineyard recounts the fascinating story of Alain and his two sons, Jean-Luc and Eric. Taking over from their father, both brothers have chosen to remain faithful to his ethos and commitment by producing great wines that reflect the purest expression of Pinot Noir and the Côte de Nuits. The yields from each parcel, which include an exceptional heritage of old vines, are carefully regulated to ensure that the fruit is concentrated, fragrant and intense. In addition, the domain has the particularity of harvesting its grapes late, at optimum ripeness, and applying low-intervention viticulture methods, close to organic agriculture. These strict practices are the guarantee of premium quality raw materials and exceptional wines, which reflect the flavours of the region and grape variety to perfection.
Vosne-Romanée is one of the most prestigious villages of the Côte de Nuits. The vines grow on Kimmeridgian and marl-limestone soils, with varying layers of stones and clay depending on the parcel. This geology produces wines that combine mineral tension, depth and precise aromatics. The estate follows a traditional, low-intervention approach: the fruit undergoes gentle, controlled extraction through moderate maceration. Alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously with the native yeasts naturally present on the grapes. The wine is then aged in casks for twelve months.
The light ruby hue shows bright highlights. The nose is lifted by strawberry, raspberry, violet and sweet spice, enhanced by subtle woody notes. On the palate, a clean, direct attack leads into a juicy, concentrated mid-palate with fine, silky tannins, leading to a fruit-driven and persistent finish.
