Information
Les Jeunes Rois is a village locality of Gevrey-Chambertin, situated to the north of the commune near Brochon, on a slope largely exposed to the south-east. This favourable aspect is ideal for ripening Pinot Noir. The clay-limestone soils interspersed with pebbles provide each vine with the nutrients it needs to flourish. Once optimal ripeness is reached, the grapes are hand-harvested into small crates. The fruit then undergoes gentle maceration and ferments spontaneously with the native yeasts naturally present on the skins. The wine is aged in barriques for twelve months before being bottled with a light filtration.
The wine displays a bright, clear ruby-red hue. The nose reveals a bouquet of black cherry, morello cherry, sweet spice and undergrowth, lifted by smoky notes. The palate reveals a fleshy, fruit-forward mid-palate supported by fine, structured tannins, leading into a persistent finish.
