Information
Château de Charodon is a family-run négociant project founded by Louis Vallet, established in the family’s historic buildings near Beaune. The estate produces this village cuvée from parcels situated on the slopes of the commune. Here, the clay-limestone soils with stony scree lend finesse and mineral tension to the wine. In the winery, the destemmed grapes ferment with native yeasts during carefully managed macerations. The wine is then aged for twelve months in French casks before being bottled with a light filtration.
The light ruby-red hue introduces a delicate, refined nose. The bouquet reveals black cherry and morello cherry, alongside red fruit, sweet spice such as cinnamon and liquorice, and a subtle floral touch. On the palate, a clean, juicy attack opens into a fleshy mid-palate with structured tannins, leading to a lightly spicy, saline finish.
