A flavoursome Nebbiolo, with aromas of cherry and tobacco, produced by an Italian wine icon.  More info

The Nebbiolo grape is the genuine star of Piedmont, both in its place of origin in Barolo and in other appellations in the region. Bruno Giacosa’s extensive knowledge of the Langhe vineyards has taught him how to identify the best plots and the most attentive winegrowers over the years, allowing him to carefully select the grapes used in the trading part of his business. This cuvée blends grapes from different plots in the villages of Monteu Roero, Sansto Stephano Roero and Vezza d’Alba. After being harvested early October, the Nebbiolo grapes are macerated in stainless steel vats for a fortnight before being aged in large capacity oak barrels (in excess of 1,000 litres) for 14 months.
This wine boasts a clear colour with a bouquet of cherry, liquorice, undergrowth, and tobacco. The fleshy, well-balanced palate moves into a beautiful finish. A tasty wine to enjoy with an Osso Bucco, for example.

Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC Casa Vinicola Bruno Giacosa serve at a temperature of 15°C. It will pair perfectly with the following dishes: Canard laqué, Escargots à l'ail, Gorgonzola.

Information about domain Bruno Giacosa

Bruno Giacosa, who passed away in January 2018, was an iconic Italian winemaker, notably in the Barolo and Barbaresco appellations. His career began very early at the age of 13, when he helped his parents in the family wine business. He also learned very young about grape selection during harvesting. This allowed him to establish a reputation as an excellent négociant. Before acquiring his own domaine (Azienda Agricola Falletto), he vinified grapes from prestigious crus. On the domaine, red wines are macerated in thermoregulated stainless steel vats. White wines are aged in stainless steel and Barberas and Nebbiolos are aged in large oak barrels. Ageing lasts between 1 and 3 years and the wines are then stored in bottles for a while prior to sale.
