Bruno Clair

Bruno Clair is one of Burgundy’s finest producers. His range of premiers and grands crus is just the kind of wine we dream about…Especially as these bottles are still attainable, despite their rarity!

Bruno Clair is the grandson of Joseph Clair (from Domaine Clair Daü). He founded his own domain in 1979 in Marsannay before later inheriting some of the parcels from his grandfather's domain. The estate is thus made up of myriad, high-quality parcels, notably in Gevrey-Chambertin and Morey-Saint-Denis where some of the appellation's most prized vines are grown, both in red and white. Bruno Clair also cares for vineyards in Pernand-Vergelesses, Aloxe-Corton, and Fixin.
Excellent maturation and precise vinifications help to best express these magnificent terroirs. The wines made here are very precise and fine, with no lack of elegance or intensity.
This range is broad and varied; the rosé and Bourgogne blanc cuvées will go nicely at an aperitif, whilst the grands and premiers crus can be served with your very best recipes after a few years in the cellar.

WHAT THE EXPERTS SAY...

BETTANE & DESSEAUVE

LA REVUE DU VIN DE FRANCE

“These are classic Burgundies, often lively and sharp. They are immediately recognisable with their stripped-back texture and lovely persistence. The whites, less well-known, are equally remarkable. The domain is laudable in its consistency and has never been in such good shape!”
