Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers Domaine Louis Jadot 2000

The wine

To create this wine, the domain carried out a 2-3 week fermentation in vats as well as an élevage in barrels for 18-20 months. This premier cru is one of the better-known of its appellation and is defined by a certain power and a lovely concentration. Its garnet-flecked ruby hue and its bouquet, balancing primary and tertiary notes, announce a dense and generous palate. About the Producer Louis Jadot (domaine)

The Jadot house, in Beaune, is one of the most prestigious in Burgundy; it produces nearly all the Burgundy appellations. Now owned by a wealthy American family, the wines are produced under the management of Frédéric Barnier who ensures great regularity for the bottles. This is indeed why the Jadot house stands out in Burgundy: over 225 hectares and 130 appellations (Côte d'Or, but also Mâcon and Beaujolais), the vast price range will satisfy everybody’s tastes. The legendary head of Bacchus is always on the label. The domain uses traditional wine-making methods: a long fermentation and maturing. Chemical herbicides are prohibited and yields are strictly limited.
