This full-bodied Vermentino offers aromas of fresh fruit and subtle mineral notes, making it the ideal partner for seafood and light dishes.
More infoThis Patrimonio Grotta di Sole Clos Marfisi is a full-bodied white wine expressing the full character of the Vermentino grape variety. In the glass, the dazzlingly clear pale yellow colour reveals green hues.
A fresh, fruity bouquet of lemon, green apple and pear, with delicate floral touches and mineral aromas rises from the glass. Hints of aromatic herbs such as basil and thyme add complexity to the bouquet. Lively and pleasant on the palate, this wine opens with a fresh attack, followed by flavours of white fruit and citrus. The texture is elegant and slightly creamy, with a nicely integrated acidity supporting the structure. The finish is long and mineral, with a subtle salinity that evokes the Corsican coastal terroir.
This wine pairs ideally with seafood, grilled fish, fresh salads and goat’s cheese. Served at 8–10°C, it’s the perfect choice for a refreshing, gourmet tasting experience.
About the Producer Clos Marfisi
Clos Marfisi has been part of the Patrimonio landscape since its first harvest in 1870. Five generations later, Julie Marfisi and her brother Mathieu grow around 15 hectares of organic vines covering three terroirs: Ravagnola (10 hectares of clay-chalk slopes by the sea), Gritole (2 hectares of clay, chalk and alluvium) and Grotta di Sole (2.5 hectares of clay, chalk and schist). The extractions are particularly gentle and maturation takes place in inert containers (steel, concrete, demi-muids) in order to conserve the fruit and its freshness. Both the reds and whites produced at this domain have a remarkable finesse.
