A harmonious cuvée reflecting the Argentine landscape and the Bordeaux style.
More infoThe Mendoza Caro cuvée was born of a shared dream between Château Lafite-Rothchild and the Argentinian Catena family. They have sought to combine two unique cultures and two unique skills into a single fragrant, inimitable wine. The Malbec grapes were sourced in the regions of Luján de Cuyo, Maipú and the Uco Valley. These well-preserved terroirs, lying between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes mountains, give the wine its full range of aromas. Château Lafite-Rothchild, meanwhile, shares its unrivalled expertise in the production of Cabernet Sauvignon. The cuvée is unique in that it is aged in the cooperage of the French estate, adding light notes of nutmeg.
The ruby-red colour complemented by purple reflections reveals an extraordinary nose with white pepper and fig aromas mingling with subtle hints of blueberry. On the palate, the fine, silky tannins perfectly balance the luscious fruit aromas with a wonderfully integrated woodiness. The delicious, lingering finish will reveal its full complexity after several years of cellaring.
