More info

Cuvée Prestige is the result of the meticulous blend of five plots of Guyot-pruned Chardonnay, producing a large number of quality buds. Facing south-east, the vines, which are on average 60 years old, grow up a steep slope, on soil mainly consisting of clay and limestone. The grapes are entirely hand-picked at peak ripeness before being meticulously sorted. In the winery, the Chardonnay grapes vinified with minimal intervention. The cuvée is then matured for around ten months, 70% in new casks and 30% in temperature-controlled vats. Once blended, the wine is bottled without filtration.
The slightly golden colour reveals a harmonious bouquet, characterised by a delicate mineral structure imparted by the region’s terroir. On the palate, a perfect balance emerges, complemented by lightly woody aromas, culminating in an elegant, fragrant finish.

About the Producer Domaine Lassarat

At Domaine Lassarat, the winemaking tradition has been handed down from father to son. At just 22 years old Roger Lassarat started working on the vineyard in Vergisson, along the border of the Beaujolais region and between the Rock of Vergisson and the Rock of Solutré. His son, Pierre Henri, followed quickly in his footsteps, and at only 14 years old he replaced his father when becoming the one to present the wines. Together, they produce 80,000 bottles per year with13 vintages over four different appellations: Macon-Vergisson, Saint-Véran, Pouilly-Fuissé and Moulin à Vent. The plots on the 11 hectares are carefully divided to respect the specific qualities of each terroir so that they can flourish in each cuvée. The grapes are hand-harvested, then delicately pressed before ageing in French oak casks. The winemakers leave the native yeast during the fermentation process to preserve the unique identity of the terroir. The father and son team have also implemented environmentally friendly methods without sacrificing quality. The estate’s philosophy is to “obtain the best of what nature has to offer”. The result is rich and full-bodied wines which reflect the diversity of the terroir and vintages from which they are produced.
