More info

The Pinot Noir vines, growing on stone and clay soils, spread across the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley region of South Africa. The grapes enjoy a cool climate, perfect for viticulture, ensuring the development of a high-quality raw material. Regarded as one of the world’s leading Pinot Noir producers, this estate performs low intervention winemaking to reflect the character and personality of the terroir in each of its wines. The grapes are hand harvested and completely destemmed, before undergoing ten days’ cold maceration in large open vats. Native yeasts then initiate fermentation and the wine is matured in French oak barrels, 28% of which are new, for around 11 months.
A stunning bouquet of peony and roses emerges from a brilliant ruby colour. The soft, luscious tannins are perfectly balanced with delicate floral flavours. This wine offers great ageing potential.
