The wine
Located to the north of Morey-Saint-Denis at 250 metres of altitude on clay-chalk soil, the earth isn’t treated with any chemicals or herbicides. Harvested by hand, the grapes are destemmed before undergoing various sessions of pumping up and pushing down per day. After 18 months in oak barrels (20% new wood), the wines are blended and bottled without fining or filtering. In the glass, this cuvée expresses all the elegance and strength of the Morey-Saint-Denis appellation. On the palate, it is ample with a good structure, making it the perfect wine to accompany a braised meat or game dish.
About the Producer Christian Clerget
Together, Christian and Isabelle Clerget manage the 6 hectare domaine in the heart of the Côte de Nuits (between Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-St-Denis, Vougeot and Vosne-Romanée). Their work on the vine is particularly careful and their philosophy is close to organic. The wines are of a very fine standard, with a lot of complexity and balance and have good aging potential.
