A fresh, taut red wine which reveals the full potential of the region’s schistous terroir.
More infoBalansa Bel Soula is a fresh, complex cuvée produced from a meticulous blend of 40% Carignan, 40% Grenache Noir and 20% Syrah. Each plot thrives on the region’s schist terroirs, cultivated in a natural fashion following the principles of organic viticulture. The grapes are harvested by hand when each variety is at peak ripeness. The fruit then undergoes carbonic maceration for 11 days. Fermentation is triggered by natural yeasts in concrete vats where the cuvée is also left to mature several months before bottling.
The slightly shiny red colour is accented by a complex bouquet of white pepper and liquorice combined with subtle hints of tapenade. The palate is clean and fresh, revealing tightly woven tannins leading to a persistent, mineral finish.
