Intensity
An intense, rich Beaujolais wine with good ageing potential. An intense fragrance and velvety tannins.
More infoLouis-Claude Desvignes’ cult Beaujolais estate presents this Morgon Javernières Aux Pierres produced from very old Gamay vines. These vines are nearly a century old and draw the nutrients they need to flourish from rich, varied soils consisting of schist, pyrite and clay from weathered eruptive rocks. This is achieved thanks to organic cultivation methods, introduced in 2005, combined with sound farming practices that promote the life of the soil. The land is ploughed and grass covers encouraged.
The hand-picked grapes are meticulously sorted and vinified in whole bunches. The wine matures for ten months in 30 hectolitre concrete vats.
This wine is typical of the Morgon appellation. Dense, complex and deep, it displays a beautiful deep ruby-red colour. Beautiful notes of red and black fruit, soft spices and blood orange emerge from the glass. The palate reveals a fine tannic structure which, with a little ageing, takes on a velvety aspect. We recommend airing this wine at least half an hour before serving.

About the Producer Louis-Claude Desvignes
Domaine Louis-Claude Desvignes is located in Villié-Morgon and has been managed by Claude-Emmanuelle Desvignes and his brother Louis-Benoît, who represent the 8th generation of the family, since 2002. The vineyard is 14 hectares with vines around 60 years old both in Douby and the Côte de Py. Each plot is vinified separately so that they better embody their individual terroir.
