More infoThis vineyard area in the Yonne has made a remarkable comeback. Almost entirely wiped out by phylloxera in the 19th century, the Vézelay terroir counted barely two hectares by the 1960s. A few years later, a handful of passionate winemakers gradually brought the vineyard back to life. Today, Chardonnay vines thrive once more on these limestone soils, benefiting from ideal south and south-east exposure. In the winery, the grapes are vinified in stainless steel vats with minimal intervention.
The pale gold hue shows bright highlights and promises an intense, authentic bouquet. The fresh, expressive nose reveals notes of white fruits and white flowers. On the palate, fresh white fruit and floral flavours are joined by subtle hints of pepper and carried by a striking mineral backbone, leading gently into a refreshing, beautifully balanced finish.
