The wine

Those familiar with the work of talented winemaker Giulia Negri in Piedmont would be wise to pay close attention to her friend Chiara Condello in Romagna (Emilie-Romagne). After gaining experience at the family estate, Chiara quickly set out on her own path. This cuvée, produced under the Romagna Predappio DOC, is made entirely from Sangiovese. Guided by environmentally conscious principles, Chiara cultivates her vineyards with meticulous care, following sustainable practices.
In the winery, the same philosophy prevails. The berries ferment spontaneously, with native yeasts, in a combination of wooden and stainless-steel vessels over a period of two weeks to 25 days. To preserve the purity and finesse of fruit, the wine is then aged in wooden casks and stainless-steel vats.
In the glass, the wine shows a luminous ruby hue, offering aromas of fresh red fruit that evolve towards subtle earthy nuances with time. The palate is structured by perfectly defined tannins, making it an excellent partner for red meats and other dishes.

About the Producer Chiara Condello

Chiara Condello is a gifted young winemaker, driven by passion and initiative. Her domain is situated in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. There, she crafts exceptional cuvées in keeping with the purest family tradition. Her seven hectares of around 50-year-old vines are rooted in clay-limestone soils and grow alongside olive trees and woodland. She exclusively cultivates Sangiovese, literally meaning ‘the blood of Jupiter’. This red grape variety, widespread throughout Italy, produces fruity, flavoursome wines that are perfect with Italian dishes. Aware of current environmental issues and to strike a balance between humans and vines, the winemaker works in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. In the vineyard, all work is undertaken by hand. In the winery, vinification takes place with as little intervention as possible and fermentation is achieved with natural yeasts. This sun-drenched, unspoilt environment is where Chiara Condello crafts wines of great character, celebrating the region’s signature grape variety.
