The wine

Located in the south of France, the Côtes du Roussillon Villages appellation is the finest expression of the Roussillon terroirs for red wines. La Truffière gets its name from an old lieu-dit well-known for its truffles, as well as its clay-limestone soils punctuated with schist, providing excellent drainage and pronounced minerality. The grapes come from old vines that are cultivated biodynamically and are harvested by hand. In the cellar, fermentation occurs naturally with the grapes undergoing gentle, slow maceration. The wine is then aged extensively in casks and barrels without filtration or fining, preserving both the authenticity of the fruit and the depth of the terroir.
The wine is dark in colour with an intense nose of wild blackberry, heath, and sweet spices. On the palate, a dense and elegant structure reveals fine tannins, driven by a surprising freshness and a mouthwatering finish.
