The wine
The MaGewrie cuvée is a subtle blend of Riesling and Gewurztraminer. Both grape varieties are cultivated in accordance with organic and biodynamic principles on predominantly clay soils. Following the harvests, the different grapes are left to gently macerate in whole bunches for a period of two weeks without intervention. The wine is then meticulously matured in 14 hectolitres ‘foudres’ (large capacity wooden tuns) for two years with regular topping-up every other week. Lastly, the cuvée is bottled without fining or filtration.
The golden colour showcases the subtle blend of Riesling and Gewurztraminer. The subtle bouquet displays wonderful fruit aromas, complemented by a remarkable mineral structure. The clean palate doesn’t disappoint, delicately leading to a flavoursome finish of impressive length. This cuvée can be enjoyed while young or after several years of cellaring.
Domaine Zeroine is located in the Jura. Rare and sought-after, this notably discreet estate has earned its reputation through the healthy cultivation of its grapes and its minimal, sometimes completely non-intervention, winemaking. A small gem waiting to be discovered!
