The wine
Domain Follin-Arbelet tends 1.1 hectares of this climat that sits like an island in the middle of the villages appellation. It owes its distinction to its difference in soil, a thick layer of clay sitting on a bedrock of hard, fractured stone. This climat produces concentrated wines with excellent structure and length. It achieves a majestic balance between powerful and acidity, this cru is a reference point for Aloxe-Corton. It combines robust tannins with a fragrant bouquet of notes of peony and violet.
Franck Follin-Arbelet comes from a family of Aloxe-Corton who previously owned plots located in prestigious appellations. However, he is the first descendant to devote himself to viticulture and vinification, starting out in 1990 with a small plot in Aloxe-Corton.
His geology studies in Montpellier have given him a fine understanding of the terroirs. He develops real wines, using agriculture which is close to organic, sublimated by natural vinification and well-controlled maturation in wooden barrels. The wines are neither filtered nor fined in order to retain their authenticity and they suit being aged.
Today, he is supported by his son Simon in the 4.5 hectares of vines planted in Aloxe-Corton, on the Corton slope, in Pernand-Vergelesses and in Vosne-Romanée in the Côte de Nuits. A domain to discover.
