Chambolle-Musigny Christian Clerget 2012

The wine

On a slope facing fully to the east, the soil is composed of hard rocks. The domain grows sustainably, harvesting by hand and avoiding stirring as the juice is put into barrels. After 18 months in oak barrels (33% new wood), bottling takes place without fining or filtering. This wine has all the elegance and finesse of a Chambolle-Musigny with a palate of concentrated flavours. In its youth, it has a firm structure of lively tannins.

About the Producer Christian Clerget

Together, Christian and Isabelle Clerget manage the 6 hectare domaine in the heart of the Côte de Nuits (between Chambolle-Musigny, Morey-St-Denis, Vougeot and Vosne-Romanée). Their work on the vine is particularly careful and their philosophy is close to organic. The wines are of a very fine standard, with a lot of complexity and balance and have good aging potential.
