More info

The Morgon cuvée is produced from a plot of over one hectare of black Gamay grapes with white juice. The old vines, averaging some sixty years, come from plots in the Croix de Chèvre and Grands Crats localities. Growing at an altitude of around 270 metres, the vines benefit from a southern exposure, ideal for ripening grapes to perfection. The stony soils of ancient alluvium provide each vine with all the nutrients required for a healthy growth. In the winery, the grapes are vatted through gravity, and fermentation triggered by native yeasts during a ten-day carbonic maceration. The winemaking process is completed with an ageing period with a balance of casks and vats. Indeed, 70% of the cuvée is matured in eight-year-old Burgundy casks for around, while 30% of the wine is matured in concrete vats, all on fine lees for seven months.
The ruby-red colour reveals a rich and intense bouquet, where stone fruit fragrances combine with elegant notes of peony. The fleshy silky palate delicately leads to a fruity and persistent finish.
