Brij Wines Syrah is produced from the Bassi Vineyard located in the San Luis Obispo county in the heart of the SLO Coast AVA. This region is known for its diverse soils, which are a blend of clay, silt and limestone, giving a unique expression to the grape variety. After a 16-day maceration period, the juice is pressed and aged in used 500 litre barrels, allowing the cuvée to mature while retaining its character.
The wine stands out among the rest thanks to its explosive aromas of blueberries, blackberries, black cherries, black pepper and delicate spring flowers. On the palate, it is complex, lively and vibrant with a long finish and a hint of violet.
Phelan Farms practises biodynamic viticulture, inspired by French regions such as Savoie and Jura. Production is limited to 1,500 bottles, which not only ensures that each bottle is rare but also that the wine and the terroir are of high-quality.
