Rheingau Schloss Johannisberg Riesling Trocken Gelblack 2021

The wine

This Riesling trocken (dry) comes from young vines planted around fifteen years ago. The domain ferments the juice at a controlled temperature of 16°C in order to preserve the purity of the grapes. The wine is then matured on lees for a month. In the glass we find a pale, golden wine with gentle, green shimmers. Its aromatic bouquet offers notes of white fruit (apple, pear), white flowers, and citrus. We find these same flavours on the palate, lifted by a fine acidity that confers at once a freshness and good ageing potential. We recommend enjoying this cuvée within its first ten years. You could pair it with a simple, seafood dish such as a creamy risotto; the energy of the wine will complement the unctuous, melted parmesan.
