Roero DOCG Matteo Correggia Roche d'Ampsej Riserva 2005
The wine
Produced in a sandy, slightly limestone and silty parcel with a southerly exposure, Matteo Correggia's Roero is distinctive for having been matured for 12 months in barrels, then eight months in stainless steel vats. The wine thus retains an appealing fruity freshness, with a silky, structured texture at the same time.
About the Producer Matteo Correggia
Matteo Correggia took over the family domaine in 1985. Located in Roero, in the southern Piedmont, it boasts sandy, marly and fossiliferous limestone soils. Its red wines made from Nebbiolo grapes have round, silky tannins and are pleasingly fresh on the palate. The whites are rich with sublime bouquets. Matteo Correggia’s wines also have good cellaring potential.
