A 12 year single cask Knockando (#800790) distilled in 1996 and bottled at cask strength in 2009 for the Managers’’ Choice series. In 2009, a group of experts met at Blair Athol to select one cask for each distillery in the Diageo group. This led to the creation of the Managers’’ Choice series, a descendent of The Managers’’ Dram, another memorable series from Diageo (then United Distillers).

Its single malt perfectly embodies the Auld Alliance between France and Scotland, even adopting certain practices from the world of wine and cognac, such as the “Extra Old” appellation and vintage. It is therefore possible to trace the development of Knockando's style, characterized by bourbon cask maturation, across the decades by focusing on four pivotal ages, 12, 15, 18 and 21, all bearing a vintage.
