Lot presentation

Chinon L'Huisserie Philippe Alliet 2004

The wine

This cuvée is aged for 18 months, firstly in barrels and then in vats. This dense and mellow wine has a beautifully full palate and is delicious to drink both in its early youth and after 10 years in the cellar.

About the Producer Philippe Alliet

Philippe and his wife Claude have been at the helm of Domaine Alliet since 1978. The domain's 17 hectares of vines are planted in the communes of Chinon and Cravant-les-Coteaux; some of the plants are 70 years old. The property owns some superbly located parcels, especially on the Coteau de Noiré, boasting slopes, clay and chalk-rich soil, and a fully south-facing exposure. Philippe Alliet cultivates his vines sustainably and places considerable importance on carefully controlling yields. The wines produced here are benchmarks in the Loire Valley and fly the flag for Cabernet Franc grape with their astonishing freshness, precision and verve. The entire range is truly remarkable. Today, Philippe and Claude Alliet have been joined on the domain by their son Pierre.
