Roussillon | 2014 vintage
The region will have seen everything in 2014! In the spring, heat events really put the vines to the test. During the summer, the region experienced very strong temperature variations, with fresh periods followed by heat waves and severe thunderstorms. The wines were on average a degree lower in alcohol compared to the previous vintages offering good ageing potential.
Red wines stand out. Red varieties were indeed harvested very early in the Roussillon, although a few patient winemakers picked riper grapes making more fruity and generous wines. Whites turn out to be superb, especially for the winemakers who harvested later and thus enjoyed the beautiful after-season.
