This Viré-Clessé is a single-varietal Chardonnay crafted by Christophe Cordier, owner of the family domain. He is dedicated to producing terroir wines with an elegant expression. To make this cuvée, he practised organic-inspired farming, working his soils to encourage microbial life and get the roots to push deeper for nutrients. The grapes are harvested by hand and taken in small cases to the winery, where they are pressed. The mist ferments using wild yeasts and the wine is matured on lees. The cuvée hence develops a golden yellow hue and a generous aromatic bouquet of white peach, lemon and nuts. Its palate balances its acidic and silky sides. This is a wine that can be enjoyed on its own or as an aperitif.
