About the producer

In 2002, Bruichladdich's master distiller Jim McEwan decided he wanted to create the peatiest whisky in the world, adding Octomore to its range range of unpeated (Bruichladdich) and very peated (Port Charlotte) whiskies. In addition to its extraordinary phenol content, Octomore is also characterized by an innovative approach to the blending and ageing of these spirits.

About the wine

An Islay single malt distilled at the Bruichladdich distillery from 2003. A heavily peated malt at 167 ppm, aged for 5 years in ex-bourbon casks and finished in ex-Sauternes casks. Bottled at cask strength on 6 February 2012. A limited edition of 18,000 bottles. Bottle equipped with a cork stopper and copper foil seal.
