Builleit is known for using a large proportion of rye in its nectars, as in the case of this version. Launched in 2011 and distilled from 95% rye and 5% barley, it continues to be a huge success and is popular for its complex palette of aromas and spicy notes.
The rich and woody nose is characterized by notes of citrus fruit, vanilla and spices. The palate is more floral, but spices like cumin and ginger quickly return to centre stage. The well-integrated wood and honey add the finishing touches to this charming profile. The finish is clean and characterized by a long-lasting wood. This is a great introduction to Kentucky rye whisky, whose popularity increases every day. Excellent for savouring with other seasoned enthusiasts or for pairing with bold dishes ideally at the end of a meal.
