    About the producer

Located in the heart of the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, Domaine Saint-Antoine des Echards was founded in 1998 by Marie-Christine and Franck Guérin. Since 2016, they have been joined by their son Pierre-Antoine, the fifth generation of the family to work the vines. The family estate covers 60 hectares, including 35 classified under the regional Hautes Côtes de Beaune appellation. The estate cultivates the region’s two signature grape varieties: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. After low-intervention vinification that allows the fruit to fully express its aromas, the wines are aged in oak casks for 6 to 12 months depending on the cuvée. The red wines offer a classic and generous profile, with a deep purple hue, fruity aromas and a touch of spice. The white wines reveal golden highlights and aromas of white flowers laced with notes of honey. The estate produces authentic, elegant wines that capture the harmony and exceptional balance of the Burgundian terroir.

    About the wine

Here, the Pinot Noir grape reveals its full potential in a subtle, generous red wine. The king of Burgundy grapes, growing on calcareous and iron soils, enjoys ideal exposure and a mild climate, conducive to good grape development. In the cellar, each step is performed with as little intervention as possible to allow the fruit to develop all its aromas naturally. During the long macerations, the grapes are pumped over to extract their tannins and their flamboyant colour. Before bottling the wine is aged in barrels for several months.
The elegant dark red colour reveals a fragrant nose of blackberries and raspberries. On the palate, the silky tannins and fruity notes strike a fine balance, leading to a delicious, slightly woody finish. This cuvée offers great ageing potential.
