Information
This cuvée is a blend of Mencia, Grenache, Tintorera and Merenzao varieties cultivated on the Seoane plot. The century-old vines grow on fine gneiss and schist rock, with a thin layer of quartz. The hand-harvested grapes were fermented with the stems in open tanks and without temperature control. They macerated for 40 days, after which the juice was extracted using a vertical press. The juice then matured for one year in old French oak casks before being bottled.
The velvety palate reveals notes of berries like strawberry and gooseberry. After being decanted for a while, subtle aromas of forest floor and dried flowers come through, giving this wine added complexity. The silky, delicate tannins lend a delightful, fruity crispness and a persistent finish.
This wine is a pleasure to savour, and pairs perfectly with a salad or game birds such as duck à l’orange.
