Information
Arnaud Lopez was born and bred in Burgundy, and at the age of 35 he began working for the famous estate Prieuré Roch. Ten years on, he decided to produce his own wines. Initially, he managed to source high-quality grapes from winegrower friends. He takes pride in vinifying exclusively organically grown grapes. Convinced that the right balance between man and the land was essential to producing high quality raw materials and great wines, he produces vintages with the greatest respect for the land and biodiversity. In the winery, the philosophy is the same. Vinification is low-interventionist, and sulphur is added in minute quantities to allow the fruit to fully express all their aromas naturally. It is in this peaceful setting that this rigorous and passionate winemaker produces authentic, limited-edition cuvées, showcasing a unique terroir and expertise.
The Côte de Nuits-Villages appellation, established in 1964, marks an imperceptible boundary between the vines of the Côte de Nuits and those of the Côte de Beaune. The Pinot Noir vines thrive on calcareous soils consisting of silt and a high proportion of pebbles. Each parcel benefits from organic practices, combined with a natural approach in the vines and the winery. The entire winemaking process is sulphur-free. Lastly, the cuvée is aged in 228 litre barrels for two years before being bottled.
The ruddy-red colour is enhanced by a heady bouquet bursting with red fruit aromas, complemented by elegant hints of liquorice. On the palate, a superb tannic structure finely embraces the delicious fruit aromas, elegantly leading to a deliciously long, complex finish. This 100% Pinot Noir can be enjoyed young, but also promises incredible pleasure after several years in the cellar.
