About the producer

The story of this Rhône Valley domain began in the 1960s, when Remy Klein, originally from Alsace, decided to purchase five hectares in Réméjeanne. The 35-hectare domain is run by Rémy and his son Olivier, who came to the domain in 2010. There is a spirit of authenticity that brings them together, a work ethic that has led them to certify their domain in organic production. The wines made here are notable for their finesse and their elegance, tense but also fresh.

About the wine

Les Églantiers is made from 80% Roussanne grapes and 20% Bourboulenc grapes. Domaine La Réméjeanne is run by Olivier Klein and his partner Juliette Le Bris, who represent the third generation of winemakers certified in organic farming.
Perched at an altitude of 250m on east-facing slopes, the vines benefit from soil composed of loess on a calcareous sandstone sub-soil. This terroir, combined with a Mediterranean climate, give the grapes an incredible expressiveness. Slow pressure, the use of indigenous yeasts and vinification in barrel all work to bring out the richness of this cuvée.
After being aged for a year on fine lees in barrels, this Côtes-du-Rhône unveils an enticing floral bouquet. On the nose, we find hints of freshly-cut herbs and garigue. This full and complex wine offers a delicate hint of vanilla on the palate, supported by a pleasant salinity and a unique limestone minerality. The airy finish is characterised by an elegant bitterness.
