Information
This Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru Les Fournières comes from a parcel located on clay and limestone soils that contain a large portion of pebbles. After hand-harvesting, vinification takes place with minimal intervention to preserve the authenticity of the grape variety. The destemmed grapes ferment in open vats, allowing for optimal extraction of the aromas and tannins. After fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 to 18 months, of which a percentage are new. This ageing process gives woody hints and a welcome aromatic complexity to the wine.
On tasting, this Aloxe-Corton stands out with its deep red colour and captivating aromas of ripe black fruits, such as cherries and blackberries, alongside spiced and floral notes. On the palate, it reveals a strong structure of fine tannins and a wonderful acidity, offering the perfect balance and long finish. The distinctive minerality and woody nuances on the finish bear witness to the careful process of ageing and speak for the long-term potential of this wine.
