    Information
    About the producer

Domaine des Murmures. The name itself piques the curiosity, and perfectly encapsulates the estate’s philosophy. Let us explain. Nestled in the Jura, the estate is home to endemic grape varieties planted on just two or three hectares of land. At the helm is Emmanuel Lançon, whose deep commitment is evident in his meticulous vineyard practices?–?working the soils by horse and by hand?–?and in his painstakingly natural approach to winemaking. Interestingly, the winemaker also works in a completely different field.
One thing is certain: as prices for Jura wines soar at auction and enthusiasts pursue the rare, flavourful indigenous grapes for which the region is renowned, the precious, small-production wines of Domaine des Murmures are captivating collectors and natural wine lovers across the globe. This is one estate we’ll undoubtedly be hearing much more about.

    About the wine

The Jura, a confidential land nestled between Burgundy and the Alps, is home to native grape varieties of rare character. Here, old Trousseau vines, deeply rooted in limestone scree and red marl from the Triassic era, thrive in a sunny, well-drained terroir that encourages slow, even ripening. Harvesting is done by hand, with rigorous sorting carried out directly in each parcel. Fermentation is spontaneous, triggered by native yeasts. Maceration lasts around 20 days, after which the wine is racked into seasoned demi-muids, with no new oak, for 12 months of lees ageing without stirring, fining or filtration.
In the glass, the wine displays a garnet-red hue. The nose is subtle and complex, marked by tangy red fruits, white pepper and dried flowers, with a lightly smoky backbone and a distinctly Jurassian earthy touch. On the palate, the attack is delicate and finely chiselled, with silky tannins and intensely fruit-driven flavours.
