Information
Situated in Husseren-les-Châteaux in the heart of the Haut-Rhin, these Riesling vines grow on a complex mosaic of marl, limestone and sandstone typical of Alsace hillside vineyards. These poor yet mineral-rich soils encourage deep rooting. Manual harvests are followed by a rigorous selection of bunches at optimal ripeness. In the winery, fermentation is slow and natural in old foudres (large wooden tuns) with native yeasts, and ageing continues for several months in traditional large oak casks with light stirring.
In the glass, the wine displays a clear pale yellow hue with green glints. The nose is expressive, delivering citrus aromatics of lemon and grapefruit alongside white flowers, complemented by flinty mineral notes and a subtle petrol nuance characteristic of Riesling. On the palate, a crisp, lively attack is carried by crystalline acidity.
