Information
Domaine Prieuré Roch, created in 1988, extends over 14 hectares, along the Côte de Nuits, over a dozen climats. The Domaine applies organic methods and favours very low yields. His wines are therefore very fine and represent as closely as possible their respective climats.
This wine comes from the Côteaux Bourguignons, where south- and south-east-facing Gamay vines send their roots deep into clay-limestone soils to draw the nutrients they need to thrive. These soils impart lightness, freshness and tension, while the slopes contribute ripeness and aromatic intensity. The grapes are harvested by hand with meticulous sorting in the vineyard. In the winery, fermentation takes place in stainless-steel vats with native yeasts, and the fruit undergoes a short maceration. Ageing is carried out mainly in vats, on fine lees for six months, with no new oak and minimal sulphur.
In the glass, the wine displays a brilliant, clear ruby hue. The expressive nose is characterised by fresh red fruit, lifted by floral notes and a subtle peppery touch. On the palate, the wine is light and moreish, perfectly balanced by lively acidity that brings freshness and tension.
