Information
Antoine Petitprez’s Pommard is a Côte de Beaune Pinot Noir crafted in a natural, plot-by-plot spirit. Pommard is one of the major communes of the Côte de Beaune, renowned for its powerful, structured reds. The parcels where Antoine Petitprez nurtures his vines rest on the clay-limestone and silty clay soils typical of the Côte de Beaune slopes. The winemaker works mainly with small, old parcels as well as fruit sourced from trusted grower-partners. The hand-harvested grapes undergo strict sorting. In the winery, fermentation is spontaneous and follows long macerations during 15 days. The wine is then aged for 16 months in old casks before bottling without fining or filtration.
The ruby hue shows strong brightness. The nose reveals complex red fruit and undergrowth aromas combined with floral notes. On the palate, a clean attack reveals fine-grained yet present tannins leading into a long, subtly mineral and deliciously spicy finish.
