Information
The Les Grèves climat spans a broad section of the Beaune slope. The soils are sandy, gravelly, stony and well drained, promoting steady ripening, aromatic richness and fine tannic structure rather than a heavy profile. The Pinot Noir grapes are hand-harvested at peak ripeness to preserve the integrity of the berries. In the winery, the Pinot Noir grapes are vinified in the purest Burgundy tradition. The wine is then aged for around 16 months in oak casks before bottling with minimal sulphur.
The wine reveals a bright, clear ruby hue. The nose reveals red fruit aromas such as cherry and Morello cherry, alongside ripe blackcurrant and sweet spice notes. On the palate, a clean attack opens onto a superb fruit-driven backbone supported by fine tannins. The persistent, gently spiced finish promises several years of graceful ageing.
