Information
A native of Quebec, Patrick Piuze has worked in many wine-growing areas throughout the world and in Burgundy. In 2008, he decided to start his own trading house. He buys grapes ranging from simple Chablis to grand cru through to the premier crus.
Bougros is one of the seven climats classified as Grand Cru within the Chablis appellation, located in the Yonne department in Burgundy. The term Côte de Bouqueyreaux refers to a specific parcel located on the south-east-facing slope of Bougros, characterised by its steep gradient and limestone-rich soils, which lend the wines a pronounced mineral character. The vines used for this wine were planted between 1995 and 1996. Following manual harvest and transfer to the winery, the grapes undergo a 3-month alcoholic fermentation in seasoned oak casks.
The pale yellow hue is graced with golden glints. The complex nose reveals ripe white fruit aromas, white flowers and honey, underpinned by a subtle mineral edge. The palate is broad and generous, balanced by lively acidity, with flavours of ripe fruit leading into a long, saline finish.
