Information
Charmes-Chambertin is one of the nine Grand Crus of Gevrey-Chambertin. Each parcel of vines grows in soils composed of limestone, marl, and stony scree. These well-drained soils encourage the vines to root deeply, concentrating the fruits’ aromas. The grapes are harvested by hand and rigorously sorted before vinification. In the winery, traditional macerations lasting around 15 days precede spontaneous fermentation in vats. Gentle, regular treading extracts colour and tannins. Ageing then takes place for 12 months in oak barriques
The wine shows a deep ruby-red hue, developing garnet glints with age. The expressive nose opens with red and black fruit, floral notes, hints of undergrowth, and sweet spice. On the palate, a silky attack leads into a generous, concentrated mid-palate, framed by fine yet present tannins and impressive length, culminating in a lingering, fruit-driven finish.
