Information
Clos-de-la-Roche is one of the Grand Crus of Morey-Saint-Denis. This highly regarded climat has a long history, its Clos and parcels have been cultivated for centuries and its reputation rests on its shallow, pebbly, limestone soils, which produce powerful and dense wines with great ageing potential. Once fully ripe, the grapes are hand-harvested and meticulously sorted. In the winery, the fruit undergoes a prolonged 15-day maceration, with regular pumping down and pumping over. Fermentation takes place spontaneously thanks to native yeasts. The cuvée is then meticulously aged in casks for 16 months.
The wine displays a stunning ruby-red hue. The bouquet is generous, offering aromas of red and black fruit, with violet and undergrowth notes. On the palate, a silky attack gives way to a broad and refined mid-palate, marked by elegant tannins, leading to a fruit-driven and persistent finish.
