More infoExplore the Corsican terroir with this white Patrimonio, a single-varietal Vermentino. Crafted by Thomas Santamaria, the sixth generation to manage the family vineyard, this wine showcases the charm of the Patrimonio appellation. The 13-hectare vineyard lies in the northern part of Corsica, west of Furiani and 25 kilometres southwest of Bastia. The plot of Vermentino vines thrives near the Padula Lake, where the proximity to water lends the wine its signature minerality and refreshing character. The vines are rooted in soils of clay and limestone, with occasional pockets of schist adding complexity. Thomas adheres to certified organic practices (ECOCERT) and is gradually incorporating biodynamic methods into his viticulture.
In the winery, after meticulous hand-harvesting, the white Patrimonio undergoes vinification and ageing in stainless steel tanks. The fermentation process is triggered by native yeasts. Depending on the vintage, the wine matures for 9 to 18 months, developing its unique profile.
