The wine
The grapes are picked and sorted entirely by hand. In the winery, gentle fermentation and slow maceration (four to five weeks) are followed by 12 to 15 months of barrel ageing.
About the Producer Château Les Trois Croix
Owned by Patrick Léon (a former wine maker at Château Mouton Rothschild) since 1995, Château les Trois Croix's vines cover a magnificent terroir in Fronsac. Located at an altitude of 86 metres, the vineyard is planted on a clay plateau, on a base of large limestone rocks. This is a perfect terroir for Merlot, which is the predominant grape variety, the rest of the wine consists of Cabernet Franc. The vines are tended with meticulous care, with Guyot pruning during the winter, leaf removal by hand, and green harvests at the beginning of the summer.
